My name is Ariana, and I am an incoming medical student at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). Prior to starting medical school, I completed an Honours Bachelors of Medical Sciences at Western University and a research-based MSc at the University of Toronto, where my graduate work focused on artificial intelligence and innovation in surgery.

I successfully navigated TMU's medical school application and interview process, achieved a 4th-quartile CASPer score two years in a row, and spent extensive time preparing for the MMI format used across the majority of Ontario Medical Schools. Having recently gone through the process myself, I understand how challenging it can be to translate your experiences into responses that are structured, reflective, authentic, and tailored to a school's values AND within a limited amount of time.

My approach to interview and application prep focuses on:

1) Personalized, actionable feedback: We'll break down your responses together and identify exactly what is working and what can be improved, from the structure and depth of your answer to your communication, reflection, and delivery.

2) Building strong MMI & CASPer frameworks: I'll help you develop adaptable approaches for ethical scenarios, healthcare and policy questions, personal questions, teamwork/conflict scenarios, and other common question types. Rather than memorizing answers, we'll focus on developing frameworks that allow you to think critically, consider multiple perspectives, and communicate your reasoning effectively under pressure.

3) Turning your experiences into your strengths: I strongly believe that your most meaningful experiences don't have to be the most traditionally "pre-med." One of the experiences I drew on most was working as a Starbucks barista for four years. It taught me how to communicate with people from very different backgrounds, navigate difficult interactions, work within a team, and remain composed in a fast-paced environment. Those lessons became just as valuable to my story as many of my academic and research accomplishments. I'll help you identify the same value in your own experiences and, more importantly, articulate what they genuinely taught you.

4) TMU-focused preparation: Having successfully gone through TMU's admissions and interview process, I can help you think critically about how your experiences and perspectives connect with the school's mission and values while ensuring your responses remain genuine to you.

I also bring extensive experience in research and healthcare innovation. During my MSc at U of T, I worked extensively in surgical AI and clinical research, including a clinical trial using AI for gallbladder surgery. I can be particularly helpful for graduate students and research-heavy applicants who may struggle with translating technical or academic experiences into meaningful, accessible interview responses.

Beyond medical school preparation, I'm also happy to support students applying to graduate school. I can provide guidance on identifying potential supervisors and programs, reaching out to research labs, preparing application materials, and positioning your research interests and experiences effectively.

Most importantly, my goal isn't to give you scripted answers. I want to help you develop the structure, confidence, and reflective thinking to approach unfamiliar questions effectively and communicate what makes you a strong future physician.
