I obtained a degree in Biological Sciences and graduated with first-class standing.

2022 - 2023
Veterinary Assistant
I worked at two different small animal veterinary clinics. Here I would mostly help the veterinarian during appointments with dogs and cats, but on occasion we would get an exotic! I would go into appointments with the DVM and collect a history, as well as, begin their notes for them.
2021 - 2022
Dairy Farm Assistant
I worked at a family-owned tie-stall dairy farm. Here I milked about 60 Holstein cows. I also learned the day-day tasks and requirements for a dairy farm.
2019 - 2019
Marine Mammal Care Assistant
I worked with beluga whales at Marineland. Here, I fed the whales and engaged in enrichment activities such as freezing fish in blocks of ice and watching the whales attempt to get to their treat. I also taught the belugas to do tricks for guests to see.
2019 - 2021
Wildlife Care Assistant
I worked at an urban wildlife rehabilitation centre which cared for orphaned or injured raccoons, skunks, opossums, squirrels, and foxes. Here I would prepare the food for the animals and ensure each received a well-balanced diet. Under supervision, I would help medicate the patients that needed it. At the end of their stay, I would release them back to the area that they were originally located in.
2015 - 2020
Animal Care Attendant
I volunteered as an animal care attendant at a small animal veterinary hospital. Here, I would keep up with the general husbandry of the clinic, including laundry and sterilization of the surgical suite, and also care for any overnight patients. I held patients for nail trims and vaccinations and monitored patients with an RVT while they were under anesthetic.

Diagnostic Imaging Club President
I am the president of the OVC’s Diagnostic Imaging Club. I organize fun events like lunch and dinner talks about DI for the students at the school.

Maria helped me this year for preparing for my interview for OVC. I felt I was much better prepared going into the interview with her help. We worked on my structure and timing, as well as questions that were difficult to ensure I would be prepared for a variety of questions. I felt my confidence improved with her help and I would definitely recommend using her services as she is wonderful to work with!

Maria was really helpful throughout the MMI process. Since the vet school I was interviewing at was not OVC, she took the time to look into it, which made the practice feel more relevant and tailored to what I could expect. She asked a good mix of questions that reflected the different types of stations, and it helped me get more comfortable thinking on the spot. Her feedback was clear, constructive, and easy to apply and I could see myself improving with each session. She also created a really supportive environment, which made it easier to stay calm and build my confidence going into the actual MMI. Thank you Maria!
