I was a non-traditional medical student who was accepted into medical school at the University of Vermont after working clinically for several years in the medical field as an EMT, CNA, and Medical Assistant. I became interested in anesthesiology early on in medical school which led me into clinical anesthesiology research which eventually culminated in an ASA MSARF research fellowship during my MS4 year. I scored a 259 on Step 2, and interviewed at 13/15 signaled anesthesiology programs during my match cycle, including top ten anesthesiology residency programs like Duke, John's Hopkins, and NYU. I then matched my first-choice anesthesiology residency at Duke University Hospital, where I am currently completing my CA-1 year. I was lucky enough to have great physician mentors while I was applying to residency, so I am excited at the prospect of being able to provide this for other medical students. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, two dogs, cat, playing/watching rugby, and reading comic books.
