Hi there! I'm a first-year medical student at the University of British Columbia. I completed my undergraduate degree in the Honours Microbiology and Immunology Co-op Program at UBC. I was accepted into medical school during my second application cycle — and I truly understand how challenging and unpredictable this journey can be.
Although my GPA and MCAT weren’t the highest, I believe my strong extracurricular experiences and interview performance helped me stand out. In my second cycle, I completely rewrote my application, diversified my experiences, and committed myself to intensive interview practice — and it paid off!
As a recent immigrant, I also know firsthand how difficult it is to navigate the Canadian medical school application system without guidance. I've been incredibly grateful for the mentors who supported me, and now I want to pay it forward.
